Guide to podcasts

Podcasts are free audio shows that you can listen to on your computer or on your personal audio player (such as an iPod or MP3 player). There are number of different ways you can listen to the show:

1) Download

You can download our podcasts by clicking on the download links. Simply right-click on the link below and choose "Save link as....". Then choose a location on your computer to download the podcast to. You can now add this to your portable music device or listen to this on your computer whenever you want. One word of warning is that podcasts can be quite large files (sometimes 30 or 40 Mb) so it may take some time to download them, particularly if you have a slow internet connection.

2) Subscribe via iTunes

This is the route that we recommend as it will download the episodes automatically for you every time we publish a new one.

If you have iTunes on your computer, pressing the Subscribe button will take you to the iTunes where you will be automatically subscribed to our podcast. This will then synchronise automatically with your iPod. Note that when you click on the button a warning will appear saying "An external application must be launched" with some scary text about "if you were not expecting this it may exploit a weakness". Don't worry about this as it is simply starting iTunes, so choose "launch application" and iTunes will then start running. If you do not have iTunes, you can download it for free here subscribe

3) Listen to it on the website

If you click on the listen now link, this will open a new browser window. From here you can click the play button and listen on your computer.

4) Subscribe via an RSS feed

There are programs that will automatically download the latest episodes of your favourite podcasts directly to your desktop in a similar way to iTunes. The RSS Feed can be accessed by hitting the Subscribe button subscribe
